Alert on Fraudulent Recruitment Scams via WhatsApp

cyber crime assessment , security awareness , malware detection and access control policy

Our agency has been alerted to a growing scam involving individuals claiming to represent Alaniz Marketing through WhatsApp communications.

These imposters have built fake websites using our logo and are reaching out on WhatsApp, offering fictitious freelance and part-time roles. In some instances, they request an upfront fee to secure these non-existent positions.

We urge everyone to be vigilant. Alaniz Marketing will never recruit for freelance or part-time roles via unsolicited WhatsApp messages, and we would never require a fee as part of the hiring process.  Please treat any such offers with extreme caution.

Our brand integrity and the trust our clients place in us are paramount. The misuse of our name by these fraudsters has prompted us to take significant steps to combat this deceitful activity.  We have reported the scam to the US FBI Cybercrimes division and have filed reports with Google, WhatsApp, and various web hosts, resulting in multiple sites getting taken offline.

We ask that anyone contacted by individuals claiming to represent our agency for employment report the accounts to WhatsApp, as well as their local authorities.

Beware of ‘Recovery Agent’ Scams

An additional concern is the recent emergence of so-called “recovery agents.” These individuals falsely claim to help recover losses from previous scams, also demanding fees upfront. Remember, genuine recovery services do not operate in this manner.
